Have you ever sold it ALL????

Yard Sale Saturday, May 3, 2008. 5:30am set up time. 8:00am start time. It was supposed to be nice. It was the town's Cinco de Mayo celebration was supposed to mean lots of people in town. Well, it wasn't the greatest of weather, which probably didn't do well for our Cinco de Mayo or the Yard Sale. It did not sunshine, it did rain briefly. We didn't have floods of people -but I guess that's how yard sales go.
However, we did very well. We sold quite a bit during the morning and people kind of came in spurts. By the end of the day, we made double the money than we expected and we SOLD EVERYTHING!!! No, seriously. We sold all that we had. Now that doesn't ever happen, you say. I know! So, it was about 4pm and we were kind of rushing to get the rest of the treasured junk that hadn't sold packed up to take into the Goodwill. So, we have it all in the back of the truck and in the back seat, front seat. We had quite a bit left over (we had a lot to start with). A guy who had come earlier came back by with a friend; they were looking for something (tools, which we didn't have). They told me to make sure we get a receipt for the Goodwill so we can put it on our taxes. So, they start slowly driving away and Neil yells, jokingly, from the back of the truck as he's tying down stuff, "Or you can buy everything here for $20." They said no and drove down the street. It's a dead end street, so they had to drive back by. I was just about to get in the car to go take the sign down. They drove up and said that he (the driver) changed his mind and he wanted to buy our truck full of stuff for $20. NO WAY!! YES WAY!!! That is the truth! Ask my in-laws, they were there and they don't lie! It was so stinking crazy! So, we literally sold EVERYTHING!!! How cool is that. We didn't have to take the truck load to the Goodwill - which would have cost nearly $15 to drive there and back.
Thank you to Grandma & Grandpa Livingston for coming down and side-tracking the boys for a while. Ok - another funny story. Some people come by and they are buying the old car seat and they were looking for a walker. I didn't have it out, but I said that I did have one that I didn't mind selling. I just hadn't had time to go through all of our baby stuff to see what could go. It's all up in the attic in the garage tucked away. So, I climb up there and get the dumb walker that is in the BACK and stuck on the crib. So, I get it down and Paden starts having a melt down when these people were going to buy it. He doesn't want to sell it. He hasn't even SEEN the thing. I seriously don't remember using it with him. We might have, but he doesn't remember it. If we used it, he was about 7 months old. Our house was small, so I didn't really use the walker much. It was soooo funny that Paden was having a meltdown over selling that. The boys did pretty well with having to get rid of some of their stuff. I tried to get rid of most of it while they were gone, so I gave many toys away for free to little kids whose parents were parusing our merchandise. Paden did tell me yesterday, I think it was, that he didnt' want me to sell his green truck, blue van and something of Gunnar's. I think he's forgotten it now though. All in all, it was a lot of work and we were very tired at the end of the day. But, WE SOLD EVERYTHING and we went to bed richer than when we woke up.
