Fischer is two . . .

. . . tomorrow - May 23rd - is actually Fischer's birthday. But, you know what? He doesn't know the difference. We had cake and ice cream for him today, so it works for him. I can hardly believe he is two years old. He has been an absolute precious blessing. I can't imagine life with out him. Even though there are four years in between Paden and him and we weren't sure if we should have another kid, it certainly was a great decision! It's sometimes hard because Paden isn't a very good middle child in the fact that he desires a lot of attention. I think that is why he clings to Gunnar so much, although he's been like that with Gunnar since the day he could. Anyway, Fischer loves both of his brothers. He follows them around and repeats everything they say. This morning, Paden got up and went down stairs to watch TV. When Fischer got up, he went down with him and I caught them sitting on the couch together. It was sweet. We don't see that a lot with those two.

Fischer is a perfect combination of his two brothers. I think he's going to be smart, funny, personable and athletic. Translation = heart breaker! He's definitely got Gunnar's athletic ability and looks a lot like Gunnar. He's got Paden's gift of gab and intelligence. He counted to 11 the other day, skipped a few number to 16, 17, 18. He knows his colors. He's in the "my do it" stage of trying to be independent. He's understands consequences like he needs to stop crying or he'll have to go to the dark room (at church) or go to his bed. It's actually kind of a wonder that he has no issues going to bed at night since he does get in trouble sometimes and has to lay in his crib until he's done crying. He needs his rest. If he doesn't go to bed by 8pm, he doesn't sleep well at night. He wakes up crying in the middle of the night and wakes up early. If he goes to bed on time, he sleeps great.

His favorite toys are balls - basketball, football, baseball - all of them. He love to "shoop" and play "beis ball". He likes his "guy guys" i.e., Rescue Heroes or other action figures. He like "ba boards" which is his word for skateboard. His brothers are in to skateboards right now, so . . . so is Fischer. He and Gunnar like to build Thomas track and play Thomas trains. They also like to build with blocks. He and Paden like to play video games - he says, "pay cars too" - Cars the video game.

He usually eats two breakfasts - one at home and one at the baby sitter's. He is the opposite of Paden when it comes to babysitters. He would rather go to the sitter than stay home. He likes to go play with his friends. If his brothers are home, then he's OK. But if it's a day where he's just home all day with papa, he's not go thrilled about those days. He actually does throw crying fits on those days.

He loves to give the dog, whose name is Commander, treats . . . everyday for no reason. "Manner, treat peas?" he asks so sweetly. He gets the treat out of the cupboard and opens the door and says sternly, "Manner, SIT!" It's pretty funny. So, the dog gets a dog bone just because pretty much every morning before we leave for school/work/sitter. :)

We finally got him to not wail and bawl when going to nursery at church. It is quite surprising that he cried about it since he loves to go to the sitter where there are lots of kids. I am not sure if it's because at the sitter the kids are older, so he's better with that. I am not sure, but the last two Sundays have been no problem at all. We do have some great nursery workers now too, though, so that could help. :0) Speaking of church, he also doesn't mind wearing his "soop", or suit as we like to call it. He's got all the youth in envy of his retro blue polyester suit!

Fischer is a fantastic little boy. I am sure I could continue on and on. That's what moms do, rattle on and on about how great their kids are while the rest of the world just pretends to care as much! :-) I am OK with that. I love all my boys; they are the best!

Here's a picture of Fischer with Grandma and Grandpa Livingston. This coming weekend we'll be heading over to see Grandpa with the puppies and Grandpa Steve - so more pictures to come next week!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, sweet boy!
