And the verdict is . . .

. . . it's a Boy!

His hand is up by his face, although you can't see his arm really well. He doesn't have a huge, funky ear, it's his hand!

So, it's true. We will have number 3 brother! Gunnar and Paden are pretty happy about the boy. We took Paden with us to the ultrasound with us since he was done with school. Gunnar had to stay at school. When I told Gunnar, he got a big smile and said, "Oh good! That won't be a problem! We already have all boy stuff!"

Paden is a little worried about being a big brother. He was worried about having to babysit the baby. I assured him that we won't be leaving baby brother with him ALONE anytime soon! I believe when we were heading to the doctor, Paden was thinking we were "getting the baby" that day. Funny kid.

So, the actual due date is June 10th. Although, we will need to be ready about a month ahead of time. Since we will be having the baby in the Tri-Cities, I can't be lolly gaggin' around like before. With Paden, I didn't have a bag packed or anything! Neil had to go back to get me stuff, which wasn't a problem to drive across town. So because Gunnar was two weeks early and Paden was three weeks early, we figure we should be ready to go a month ahead of time this go 'round. I am going to have to put in a request for a weekend because Neil has a long term sub job starting at the end of March or so through the end of the school year, so I don't want him to miss too many days of that. Although, since I was only in the hospital three hours with Paden before he was born, he should only miss a day.

So, SURPRISE to those few readers who weren't aware that we were expecting! My lack of blogging the last few months has been due to tiredness!!! I am doing much better now, but still don't have a lot of motivation to do much productive activities!! :)

So, now we are just curious what kind of personality is going to come out of this little boy. We are hoping for a little bit of size out of him. Even though he's going to be 4 years younger than Paden, Gunnar will be in need of some assistance in helping protect Paden as his smart aleck mouth gets him in trouble.

Sunday thoughts belated

On Sunday, I did want to post some thoughts I had, but alas I started feeling cold-like symptoms and I just didn't get it done. Based on a couple of notes I wrote down, I think I can recollect some of the thoughts - in random order.

• As we were eating breakfast and reading the scriptures, the boys said a couple of things that I thought were worth recording. I sometimes wonder if they are really listening as we read to them, but I think they must hear bits and pieces. We were reading the last chapter of 1st Nephi and it was explaining how the wicked will be destroyed. Paden says, "These scriptures are scary. Some other ones we read before weren't scary, but this part is." It was cute. Good opportunity for me to respond that if we make good choices, then we don't have to be afraid, just like the scriptures tell us. Gunnar then says, "I wonder when Jesus is going to come again so that the lions will be tame." I wonder if he thinks we'll get to visit a lion when that happens . . . didn't ask where that train of thought came from.
• Because we were travelling the last two weekends, we missed church. It was nice to be back and be rejuvenated. It was much needed. Although I don't really recall much of what the speakers in sacrament meeting said because Paden inisited on sitting on me (we read a couple of books). In either sacrament meeting or somewhere else I heard this: We know that souls are so precious in the sight of God because he gave his only begotten Son. We don't determine the worth of souls; God does. He gave in love and selflessness. The Savior served in the same way. That made me remember that we should also serve in love and selflessness. Being selfless is difficult at times, for me anyway. Good reminder for me.
• I love that we are studying the Doctrine and Covenants this year in Sunday School. I love the D&C and I vow to study the lessons ahead of time (yeah, 'cuz I haven't done that for a long while).
• I am the Enrichment Leader (have been for a year or so). The RS president told me that a year or so is probably a good time of service in that calling and so she's going to release me this month. I don't mind Enrichment, it's been good. We did some fun stuff and had some sucessful meetings. It's hard for me to want to go do something in the evening when I am already away from the boys all day. I don't mind, although I worry about being called to the primary. For some reason that scares me. Nursery, I think I could handle. I suppose I should brace myself just in case. I don't know of any other "vacant positions" and there's probably someone in primary that's ready to be released! My fear somewhat is derived from the fact that my kids don't really listen to me and I think they would misbehave with me there. Paden is now a sunbeam and he's awfully clingy to me - just don't think it would work really well. Not to be picky or anything! :-)
• And lastly, been trying to think of what to do for Paden's upcoming 4th/5th birthday. For those who don't know the story, I will fill you in. Paden officially turns 4 on Feb. 15th. However, since sometime in the summer, he's been insisting that he is skipping 4 and he's going to be 5. At the Portland Children's Museum, there's a place called "The Garage" where you get to make projects out of all recycled products - stuff some people would throw away like milk cartons, cardboard, styrofoam, etc. You have to be 5 to go in to build something. So, Paden decided that he's skipping 4 so that he can be 5 to go into build a project. We thought at first it had to do with going to school, like his brother or something, but nope! Just wants to get into the Garage. I wonder if they will believe him when he tries to tell them he is 5.

I think I can make an end to my rambling for Sunday thoughts on a Tuesday night!

Does the hotel have a pool?

We have to stay in a hotel with a pool. It's a REQUIREMENT. I think you can tell the reason why by watching this video. Just trying to learn to use our new gadget, so excuse the shakey parts!
