Growing so FAST!

Just a quick note tonight . . . I have to fly to Portland for a meeting tomorrow. My flight leaves at 6am, luckily I live only a couple miles from the airport. So, it's hot. It's only May 16th (Happy Birthday Bradley!) and it was about 100 degrees today. At 5:15 pm we were driving through town to get some things and all the banks had different temps ranging from 95 to 104. The 95 was in the shade, so I am guessing it was about 100 today. That's HOT! We don't have AC in the house, so that's kind of crappy. We were going to get it last year, but bought a new bed instead and now this year we aren't getting a bonus from work. So, we'll get our window AC units up again and continue to sport the ghetto look, but it will help keep us cool. I think this is a large contributer to our 3 year old son's inability to sleep in his own bed all night. After we kind of got him kind of sleeping there, summer came and our room had the AC unit! Poor boy couldn't sleep in those conditions. Anyway, we're not sure how we're going to keep him in his room this summer. Paden had his 15 month check up today. He weighed in at 23 pounds 4 ounces. He's lost 4 ounces in the last week & a half. On the 6th of May, we had to take Paden into the walk-in clinic because there was something wrong with his eye. We found out he had a scratch on his eye - we have no clue how it got there, but we got some prescription drops and it healed fine. Paden is pretty crazy little boy. He can climb up the ladder and go down the slide unassisted, which I though was pretty amazing when I saw him do that several weeks ago. He's pretty stubborn and throws a crying fit when he doesn't get what he wants. Gunnar never went through the terrible twos until he was three. I am hoping Paden is getting done with his early. Paden had taken his diaper off a couple times (when he's got no clothes on, he can't figure how to get out of his onsie yet!) and when he takes it off he goes to the bathroom door. So, we open it and he heads for the toilet and sticks his pelvis out like he's going to pee. He hasn't yet, but he seems to want too. This seems like a good sign for easy potty training, but I won't keep my hopes up to far. He's seems to be a pretty smart cookie, just no real words yet. He's plenty vocal, but more yelling (not always a grumpy yell) than talking. He seems to say, "look" a lot when he points. He can pick the right key from my key chain and put it in the ignition of the car. He knows how to start the car with the remote start button, then he puts the key in. He throws a big crying fit when I take him out of the driver's seat or if I don't let him drive at all. What a silly boy. So, Gunnar went on the Father & Son's campout with Papa! He loved it. He had a great time. He was excited to sleep in the tent. He roasted some marshmellows, but then decided he liked them plain and roasted them for Neil to eat, while he stuffed his mouth with uncooked ones. The first thing he did when he got there was he had to find a walkin' stick. So he found one and brought it home. Neil said he did behaved really well and had a great time! Paden and I went to bed early and tried to sleep in and did nothing else - it was great! Oh my babies!
